How BestAPYRates earns and why it doesn't change our rankings
This page explains our affiliate relationships, how we verify rates, and the limits of what we can promise, so you can judge our comparisons for yourself.
Compensation and accuracy
What we disclose and how we verify it
Some links on BestAPYRates are affiliate links. When you open an account through one of them, we may receive a payment from the financial institution. We label these links clearly and never charge you more for an account because of them. Compensation does not decide which accounts we feature, how we order them, or what rating we assign. Rates and terms are checked against institution disclosures at the time of publication. Because APYs and account conditions are set by banks and can change at any time, always confirm current figures on the institution's own site before you open an account.
Our editorial team writes and reviews every rate comparison. Partner relationships are managed by a separate business function and have no access to draft rankings. When we correct a published figure, we note the change and the date so you can see what changed and why.
Our criteria
How we evaluate banks independently
Every institution is measured against the same standards, whether or not we have a commercial relationship with it.
Rate accuracy
Verified APY figures
We compare advertised APYs against the institution's published disclosure and note any conditions attached to the headline rate.
Account terms
Minimums and restrictions
We record minimum balances, monthly fees, withdrawal limits, and any requirements that affect the real return on an account.
Transparency
Clear, consistent ranking
Each account is scored on the same criteria, so readers can see why one option ranks above another and reproduce the comparison.
